George Nicolson were pleased to be instructed by Greene King to undertake the decoration works to the external of Milnes Bar, Edinburgh.
Following receipt of a local authority permit, works to all elevations included the preparation and decoration of cornices, soffits, fascias, walls (to the pub frontage and under pavement), shutters, doors, pillasters, facings, stair nosings, mouldings and metalwork. In addition, our trained operatives were required to work safely of a mobile tower to reach the high level areas.
With its position in the heart of Edinburgh, a mere stone’s throw from the site of the annual book and literary festival, Milnes Bar is quintessentially linked with the literary history of the city. In recent years Milnes Bar, Edinburgh has become renowned for its vast selection of cask ales and craft beers of the world. On top of this they have recently added 37 Single Malt Scottish whiskies to their extensive spirits range. In addition, their food menu is packed with great pub classics as well as offering non-gluten dishes, vegan and vegetarian meals.
The first time we decorated Milnes Bar was many years ago when it was two pubs being made into one, Cotters & Milnes. Nice to be back once again!
