George Nicolson were pleased to be instructed by David MacLennan, Buildings Manager, to undertake the decoration works to Gorgie Dalry Stenhouse Church of Scotland.
Works to the large front church hall encompassed the preparation and decoration of the ceilings, coombes, wall recesses, upper walls and beams, dado walls and skirting, previously painted doors and facings and column radiators. In addition, our skilled operatives were required to work safely at height to prepare and decorate the windows.
Gorgie Dalry Stenhouse Church of Scotland (also known as GDS Church) is a Parish Church in the centre and south west of Edinburgh, stretching from Haymarket Station to HMP Saughton. Their ministry operates over three locations, with Gorgie being the heart of their Sunday services of worship. In Dalry, they operate Saltyard, a coffee shop where you can go and meet in a relaxed setting. In Stenhouse, they have a developing community centre which for eight winter months provides a Night Shelter in conjunction with Bethany Christian Trust.
Following completion of this project, we were instructed by the client to commence with further decorating works to the kitchen for the Night Shelter at Diadem, their Stenhouse Building. Repeat business is always a sign of trust and a growing partnership. We look forward to working for them again.
