George Nicolson were pleased to be instructed by Greene King to undertake the decoration works to the external of Shakespeares, Edinburgh.
Following receipt of a local authority permit, works to all elevations included the preparation and decoration of windows, ingoes, surrounds, doors, facings, timber frontage, grills, cellar doors and planters. Mouldings were also picked out in a different colour.
To the side gable and main frontage, the existing blackboards, mouldings and picture rail were removed then refitted following the replacement of exterior grade ply. Together with the installation of any missing panel mouldings, the delaminating skirting was also disposed off and fitted with exterior grade ply to match the existing.
Our trained operatives were required to work safely of a mobile tower to reach the high level areas.
Located close to the heart of Edinburgh’s financial district, as well as some of the city’s best hotels, Shakespeares, Edinburgh is one of the oldest pubs in Edinburgh. As its name betrays, it was built at the same time as the theatres and served to cater for both the actors and crowds of that age.
