George Nicolson’s Principal Contract Team were delighted to be instructed to undertake the refurbishment works to The Argosy Bar, Glasgow.
Over a four week period, works involved the redecoration internally to the popular bar area on the ground floor, a full refurbishment of the upstairs function area (including renewal of all fixed and loose seating, a new back gantry, extensive works to the raised dance floor area) and a complete redecoration of the exterior involving fixed scaffolding and mobile working platforms for safe working access. Floorcoverings were replaced throughout and all four toilet areas were upgraded. In addition, new electrical and lighting positions were created for the new layout which included the hanging of the new light fittings.
Works were carried out in conjunction with Greene King’s project and operations team which involved co-ordinating with their direct contractors. The design was created by Davison Baxter Partnership Ltd based in Kirkcaldy.
The Argosy Bar is known as one of Glasgow’s friendliest community bars. The bar can comfortably seat 120 guests, has 8 large screen televisions and can show multiple sporting events. They also have a pool table, dart board and host regular live music and entertainment.
