George Nicolson were pleased to be instructed to undertake the decoration works to the Sports Hall of The Edinburgh Academy Junior School.
Works encompassed the preparation and decoration of the upper walls, lower walls, windows, doorsets and balcony railings. Low level decoration works were carried out by working off steps and a tube scaffold. Our trained and skilled operatives were required to use powered access equipment to enable them to reach the high level areas safely. This was particularly challenging as we were required to protect the new flooring within the hall from the heavy MEWP (mobile elevated working platform). Furthermore, the MEWP had to be dismantled to enable the entry and removal of the unit into and out of the hall.
As an outward looking Scottish school, the attributes of the Edinburgh Academy Learner are resilience, curiosity, independence, collaborative attitudes and creativity. These are nurtured in a caring environment through their exceptional academic offering but also through the expressive arts, outdoor education, sport and service to the community.
