George Nicolson were pleased to be instructed by Greene King to undertake the decoration works to the external of The Railway, Haddington (formerly known as The Green).
Together with members of our subcontracting team, roof repairs were undertaken and vegetation removed from the rainwater guttering and chimneys. Windows were repaired and overhauled with the ironmongery being replaced. Roughcast repairs were made to the low boundary wall at the beer garden.
To allow the safe execution of works whilst working at height, our trained operatives were required to work from a scaffold. The gutters and downpipes, masonry brickwork, windows, window surrounds, fascias, soffits and doors were prepared and decorated. Due to the location of the property being within a conservation area, the signage had to be hand written thus giving the pub an authentic look in keeping with the local council’s ethos for the area.
The end result has been received very well by the client, tenant and customers alike.
