We are delighted that our Contracts Manager, Andrew Scotland (pictured left above with Ewan Nicolson) was awarded SDF Historic Restoration Contracts Manager of the Year 2022 at the SDF Annual Awards evening held on 31st March 2023.
During the 6 months of the project at 4 Royal Terrace, Edinburgh, Andy was required to co-ordinate with all other trades, together with the client and the tenant, to safeguard our works were sequenced correctly. Andy ensured there was minimal disturbance to the employees of various companies who were working in the building throughout the contract and that all Health & Safety requirements were adhered to. As there were numerous aspects of painting and decorating within this project, including the hanging of wallcoverings and picking out of period features, Andy’s wealth of knowledge and experience supported the development of our young apprentices and skilled tradespeople alike. Andy’s attention to detail, together with his excellent communication skills with clients, employees and suppliers, ensured this project was delivered to the highest calibre possible
Andy has been with the company for over 40 years, starting as an apprentice. Following completion of his apprenticeship, he became a tradesman who then worked his way to Site Foreman and then onto Contracts Manager. Andy is also a Shareholder in the company.
As well as being a competent Contract’s Manager for many years, Andy has a HNC in Painting & Decorating, is an excellent tradesman and is a well-respected senior member of staff.
