30 Melville Street, Edinburgh

George Nicolson were delighted to be instructed by Surveying Solutions Ltd to undertake decoration works to 30 Melville Street, Edinburgh.

Within this 19th century Georgian Townhouse, specialist scaffolding was erected to enable the safe execution of the decorating works to the high level areas within the stairwell, such as the ceiling, walls, decorative frieze and oculus.

Throughout all 3 floors, ceilings and walls were decorated within the numerous offices, boardroom, stores, tea preps and toilets. All existing woodwork such as internal doors and windows, dados, architraves, skirtings, cills, panelling, hatches and mantlepieces were decorated.

Our skilled operatives were required to strip off damaged paper linings and renew to match the existing wallcovering. Previously painted radiators and metalwork were also thoroughly prepared and decorated as per the client’s specification. In addition, all previously painted cast iron balustrading to the staircases and landings, together with all surfaces to the stone staircase risers and treads, were also prepared and decorated.

Following completion of the project, we arranged a sparkle clean of the building (including all fittings, finishes and surfaces) so that all areas were ready to be utilised.
