As Principal Contractor, George Nicolsons, together with our sub-contract team, were pleased to be engaged by Greene King, along with their direct contractors, to undertake a full refurbishment of The Georgic, Shawlands.
Internally, wallcoverings were stripped and the entrance matting, light fittings, WC cubicles, wash hand basins, mirrors, fittings and redundant electrical cabling were removed. There were alterations to the back bar gantry and a new undercounter was installed in the public bar. The existing bar services and electrics were upgraded and the lounge, bar, restaurant and ladies toilets were fully refurbished. The fixed seating was reupholstered. Decoration works were also completed throughout.
Externally, following the removal of the existing signage and the vegetation from the building, joinery works were completed and new signage installed. The masonry walls, woodwork and metalwork such as rainwater goods and roller shutter were also prepared and decorated.
Over a three week period, The Georgic was fully transformed through the design and concept created by Melling, Ridgeway & Partners Ltd together with the team at Greene King.
