As Principal Contractor, George Nicolsons, along with our sub-contract team, were pleased to be engaged by Greene King, and their direct contractors, to undertake the refurbishment and internal redecoration of The Harbour Inn, Edinburgh.
Following the strip out works, the bar servery was altered and the bar tops, counter front and backfitting were prepared and decorated. The existing wallcoverings were removed and replaced with new. A new fireplace was formed in sleepers with a slate hearth and brick slips added to the chimney breast.
Within the gents WC, downlights were fitted. The vanity units, wash hand basins, urinals and WC cubicles were removed and replaced with new. The existing wall tiles were removed and new tiles installed.
Within the ladies WC, a new ceiling was fitted and downlights installed. The existing wall tiles were stripped out and replaced. The quarry floor tiles were also stripped out together with the existing WCs, vanity units, doors and frames and replaced with new. New timber effect flooring was also installed. In addition, a new second cubicle was built to match the existing.
As well as the installation of new light fittings, the existing timber floors were revived and the fixed seating refurbished.
Decorations works, including the hanging of wallcovering, were completed throughout.
Over a three week period, The Harbour Inn, Edinburgh was fully transformed through the design and concept created by CSY Architects Ltd, Kirkcaldy together with the team at Greene King. The investment has greatly improved the customer experience whilst maintaining the pub’s traditional charm.
