George Nicolson’s strongly believe in training for growth throughout our workforce from office based members of staff to site operatives and management. The training undertaken covers a wide range of Health & Safety subjects such as Mental Health First Aid, IPAF, PASMA, SMSTS, SSSTS, SCORE and Asbestos Awareness but to name a few. During 2018, our employees completed a total of 65 days training. Through our apprenticeship and young tradesperson’s pathway, we have the ability to develop the skills of our tradespeople for the future. Once more, it is our intention to put our employees through at least a further 30 days of training during 2019.
This year also sees us enter our year 3 of IIYP accreditation where we continue to work to the standard of IIYP to assist us in supporting and encouraging our young people to fulfil their potential through our 6 year pathway. With an assessment due soon, we are hopeful for positive feedback on our progress.
