Today, 8th March, is International Women’s Day – a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women.
The aim of IWD 2023 #EmbraceEquity campaign theme is to get the world talking about why equal opportunities aren’t enough. People start from different places, so true inclusion and belonging require equitable action.
We would like to support IWD by acknowledging the women within our workplace and the achievements of each in their key roles.
Our only female painter and decorator, Chloe T (pictured left) has been with the company for almost 7 years now. As well as being delighted on how Chloe thrived whilst serving her 4 year apprenticeship with us, Chloe has continued to develop and extend her skills as a qualified tradesperson and is considered a valuable member of our team.
Our Office Administrator, Debra McD (pictured right) has been with us for almost 10 years. Debra’s vital administration role encompasses the processing and payment of company invoices together with the processing of weekly timesheets, debtor management and job reporting.
Our Senior Contracts Administrator, Avril A (pictured left) has been with us for over 17 years. Starting initially as an administrative assistant, Avril’s role has developed significantly over the years. Avril now plays a valuable role in the development and training of our employees, all contracts and project administration, our company accreditations, facilities management and the implementation of new company policies and procedures.
Margaret Nicolson (pictured right) has been the Company Secretary for over 40 years. Now almost fully retired she has fulfilled many admin roles over a number of years. As our longest serving member of staff, Margaret has seen many changes in this time, particularly when her two sons took over the business after the passing of her husband George in 2010. Margaret still likes to pop into the office from time to time to help out where she can.
We are grateful to all the women throughout the company, to the roles they fulfil and to their contributions to the business.
