As Principal Contractor, George Nicolsons, together with our sub-contract team, were pleased to be engaged by Greene King to undertake a refurbishment and redecoration of The Albanach, Edinburgh.
Internally, fixed seating, poseur tables, bric-a-brac , faux planting, loose furniture etc were all removed. Joinery works included the replacement of new cupboard doors, adding of new dado height polished groove panelling and the creation of a new feature wall. New upholstered back pads were added to the retained fixed seating to tie in with the new scheme. The existing timber floor to the bar and dining area was sanded, stained and re-sealed. Decoration works to ceilings, walls and woodwork were completed throughout and included the installation of wallcoverings to the dining area, stair walls and toilet.
Within the staircase, the existing vinyl floorcovering, adhesive treads and risers were stripped out. New concrete was applied and new safety vinyl flooring fitted with contrasting nosings.
Over a two week period, The Albanach, Edinburgh was fully transformed through the design and concept created by CSY Architects, together with the team at Greene King. This impressive new look offers an inviting atmosphere for both customers and staff alike.
